FINALLY!!! Some luck turns my way!

You won't believe the deal I got into. A guy I work with told me of his best friend in a small town in the middle of Nebraska. He's got something like 7 944's and a race ready 911. I decide I should at least ask if he's got an engine. It seems this towing company a few towns over has had this 83 n/a 944 for months. He doesn't know what the car is worth either and said $300 in storage fees and I can have it.

Story goes, some rich mom and dad bought their 16 year old punk spoiled kid this car for what I'm assuming a few grand. It was mint condition only a year ago. They had a brand new clutch put in, rebuilt the engine, put on some sort of flashy wheels and new tires, etc etc etc. I haven't seen the car personally yet, but those three things make my wee-wee stand up considering the cost of the car. Anyway, the kid took it out f*cking TERRACE JUMPING!!! I mean... WTF??? Anyway, it's smashed all to hell up front, pushed back the upper support and everything. This guy that informed me of the car said he wouldn't feel the slightest bit worried about that engine. He drove it before the wreck btw and said it was solid as hell. Nice enought guy to let me take advantage of it first, too! Considering he's never met me!

I seriously couldn't be any more relieved... at least, once it's paid for and sitting inside my garage.

Tear-ass jumping? Rips the undercarriage out of the car...?

I could use a deal like that around here. Way to go!

Out in Central NE? I'll be in the Kearney area tomorrow. If it's anywhere near there, call me up and I'd be happy to check it out.

sounds like it could be a nice find.

If the engine is pushed into the cab most likely the block is cracked and broken at the motor mounts. Need to take a hard look at it or you are just buying a junk pile.

It is a nebraska thing. This car is currently in Plattsmouth, to be correct. The guy I talked to said he looked it over real good and saw that the engine itself was untouched. It was purely structural. I plan to go look at it next week. I'll keep up on the info.

Yes he is. Linda runs the ebay show, and I've done business through her at least 5 times. Probably one of the best ebay businesses out there in all honesty. Sad that we know each other on a first name basis now.

What we call terraces here are big bridges for trains... so... I dunno but I get the point.

For 300 How is the interior? A mint interior with good glass is worth the 300$. even if the engine is cracked up...
