Today was a good day!

Drove my 944S to work today for the first time since I got it this past weekend and when I returned home the Fedex fairy had dropped off my 18" OEM turbo twist wheels, 18x8 & 18x10 wearing 225/40ZR18's on the front and 285/30ZR18 Pirelli PZero's. No rubbing, and a much more dramatic look!

dont drive those pirelli's in the rain... i have a set of p6000 and if they're at all similar, I find them quite dangerous in anything but perfectly dry roads (dangerous on a misted road, even)...

i suggest you find a big empty parking lot, one where the asphalt is 'road quality' (ie. not that rocky stuff you see in cheap driveways, but the nice smooth asphalt kind).. drive 'er around there for a bit until you get a feel for the tires and their thresholds.

I personally am dumping the pirelli's and getting a set of falkens mounted this tuesday.

but yes.. pics! what wheels did you have before?

I hate posting links, but here's a link to a GruppeB thread I started yesterday with some decent pics. The 285/30's look HUGE from the rear of the car!

I'm not sure about the camber, the car was a full-on race car before I got it last weekend, but fortunately it wasn't so far gutted that it can't be driven on the street, all the power accessories and sunroof, heat, etc. still work. The suspension was all set up this way when I got the car. I will probably raise the ride height a touch over the winter and re-align things a bit.

nice choice Van!!!
i have the same wheels and tires on my car, it looks rock solid i love how wide they are. and i certinly agree with Eldorado about the rubber too. i dont drive mine hard or in the rain but been i wouldnt trust them.

our cars look a lot alike, the turbo wheels are a nice touch, they look great.

what are you doing with your hold wheels? ive got good rubber and the phone dials are in good shape, they are living under my workbench, im not sure what their fate will be....

your car looks great!

Thanks, it's definitely an improvement. I'm not too worried about the tires since I won't drive the car if it's raining, and if I happen to get caught in the rain I'll just take it easy. As bad as these may be in the rain, there sure to be a far cry better than the Michelin Pilot Sport Cups I have for the track! I'm going to mount those on a set of 928 S4 wheels that came with the car and sell the 16x7 fuchs.
