condensation on oil filler cap!

is this normal? my '89 S2 sat for about ten days, then i took it for a 2 hour ride, when i got home i wanted to top off the oil and when i opened the filler cap i noticed water droplets inside it, might i have a problem, or what causes this? thanks!

Completley normal. Verify that the oil on the dipstick is still the right color though just to be safe. If it looks like chocolate milk then that is not normal .

If ifs fine, dont worry about it .

The fact that it's normal doesn't mean it's alright. But rest assured that it is normal.

FWIW, many cars have this "feature" and continue to run fine. Just to be safe, I clean the water off often.

Mine's the same especially when the weather is really cold. The filler cap has been totally clear through the summer.Last winter i made a point of taking it out on a long run a couple of times a week to clear the condensation and i was also advised not to fully tighten the filler cap to allow the condensation to escape.I find it's worse if i only use the car on short journeys when the weather's cold as the condensation doesn't get chance to fully evaporate.

thanks guys, i've also never seen it in warm weather, just when the temps swing from cold to warm or the car sits in the cold for awhile. the oil on the dipstick looks perfect so i guess, no worries.
