Factory option or dealer option?

I bought this 87 944S with ALL documentation and nowhere does it indicate these wheels were purchased or installed later. Does anyone know if this was an option on this car new?

The wheels you have on your car seem to be Boxter Twists or Turbo Twists. Those wheels didn't come out until mid 90s, so there's hardly a chance they were a dealer or factory install. The most common wheels that came on 944's from the factory were Phone Dials, Cookie Cutters, and Fuchs.
Nonetheless they look great on your car.

Yup, those wheels didn't even debut on new Porsches until the LATE 1990s. Nice-looking update, though.

Thanks Razor. Bought this car from the 2nd owner just this past Feb with 40,700 mi. on the odometer and the car just had the timing belt and water pump replaced within the prior 6 months. Interior is like new as well (no dash cracks) and everything works (even cold AC). It has always been garage kept. Now it is my duty to put miles on it. I drive it daily to work.

What color is the interior? Those wheels look damn good on the white car.

Bill,
The interior is brown (not a choice I would have made buying new, but you get what you get, right?).

I didn't like my brown interior either at first. That sure has changed for me. How wide is the rear tire (looks a lot wider than stock, i think)?

Tires are 205/50-17 front and 255/40-17 rears. It also had the struts changed to the later 944 setup and was lowered just a bit.
Yeah, the brown has kinda grown on me.
I previously owned an '87 944 NA in black with the light tan/sand color. That was a great looking interior but showed a lot of use.

Your car looks like mine, except for the wheels.

Interior color?

That doesn't look all that brown to me since my '84 does have a brown interior. Can't see that on the picture of course.
