Rotor spacers

Is changing the dizzy cap and rotor on an S2 straightforward?I've just changed mine and she seems to be running a little rougher now especially until she's warmed up (almost missfiring).Could i have affected the timing in some way - although it seemed straightforward unscrewing the 3 bolts, what's the real purpose of the 3 spacers?

Should be straight forward. Check your wires and make sure you didn't cross two of them....easy to do. You cannot change the timing by the dist cap..timing is set by DME.
