Numbers to make your day better!
This should make some feel good...
1-0psi 2-30 3-134 4-150 Feeling pretty crappy right now so I am diving in to this.... Dalhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1162239442.jpg |
Sorry to hear that one Dal. I guess the number that makes you feel better would be how many of those it took to make you forget! Do you have bent valves or what happened?
|
Yeah - what happened? No compression on one while others are relatively normal? Oh man, I'd be buying a case of that wonderful stuff...........
|
Stupid error on the technicians behalf....I did not get the oil drive gear in flush, timing gear backed out and blew the timing. That is what I get for having low blood sugar, tired and dazed, got in a hurry and did not check my work, just fired it up. Luckily I killed the engine real quick like so the damage is not as bad as could have been. I am certain 1 and 2 are bent.
On the bright side, this stupid error has me obtaining a race head from Lindsey or Geo B, so power is on layaway! Dal |
This is me after I did the bad deed.....wait I think I just located ALINA, gosh we sure do look alike!
But I will look better after a few mugs! Dalhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1162245112.jpg |
**** happens man. My headgasket went and though it did put me in the hole $400 to get all the parts aswell as adress a few other things, it was a great time to clean up some things aswell as address those which ive been putting off, like the heater control valve and the fuel lines. Also fixed one of my vacuum leaks from the last time i had my intake manifold off.

You're twice the man for living through it. And quite Brazen from the choice of commiseration. We all screw the ugly pooch sometimes. Cheers to 924Sman!

I say it is a conspiracy run by the local bus company and I really am not at fault. I was set up, now DM Rapid Transit has their hands in my wallet!;) That is my story and going to stick with it......:) Dal |

FYI It's not the MTA in for you. It's the new Car Dealerships. They Haunt me as well. Mark my words men. The evil spirits are excited to claim another old soul while the dealers are ready to sign away your immortal credit. beware... beware..... |
No Honda here but I could fire up the old MAICO 501 but then all would see me on Fox News.....49 y.y. man eludes police on non street legal retired German MotoX crotch rocket. More news at 10 for more live chase coverage!

Dallas,
OUCH!!!! It looks like I'm back into the watercooler crowd again. I'm picking up an '86 Turbo tonight to replace the Carrera slant, for now. Got the check from Allstate and needed transportation. It pushes 1.5 bar and really hauls and there is a DE coming up at Sebring soon so it's time to do a nut and bolt and get after it. Pix coming. Are you thinking of doing 24 @ Daytona or Sebring next year? Talk to you soon, Steve Ed |
Sounds like a head gasket. Good news is it's an easy fix.

Un-Happy #'s
Those numbers do not make me feel good. :(
The Guiness, that usually brings a smile to my foamy lips. switching out the head is usually the fastest way to go. Double check to see it will fit. Think about new head bolts. I don't like reusing them. If the old head isn't too bad, you could sell it as is or rebuit to re-coup some of the expen$e. Sorry for the luck, It could happen to anyone. Taking your tale of woe to heart I will double check (hec, triple check) everything before turning the key when I do the job. |
AWOL....Bad PC issues........Ok back online....I think!?
Update....New head ready for install and the old is up for a rebuild as a spare. This one will be ported/polished and what ever else I can spend cash on for a pony or 2. Steve......Just may make Sebring but not in my car. May have a seat in another ride! Dal |
Hot damn about Sebring!
