Thumbs up well, good news about my 944 being vandalized

wow it has been so long since i have posted. after my car was basically destroyed back in april i couldnt bring myself to come here. i have been nearly in tears with how poor of condition my 944 is in right now. if anyone out there remembers me and what happened to my car, if not, i found the link to the original forum:

HELP NEEDED! please, im in need
forgive me sounding like a retard in that forum as well, i was speaking out of anger.

well anyways, i was quoted at $11,600 in damages. i finally received a victims statement in the mail from the court, he has been found guilty, now its sentencing, i plan on going to court so i can properly speak up on my behalf. i thought i might share the good news with you guys, i missed being here. i know i wont get the full amount for the damages, it would sure be nice, but i just dont see it being too feasable.

anyways, i think i will start posting here again more often now that i will be receiving money to start fixing my car.

on another note, i got 2 cars since all this, a 1990 eclipse gst and a 1994 civic ex coupe. the eclipse has been sold and the civic has found a sweet spot at my daily driver. my hand still itches for the shift knob in my 944, and my feet want to rest comfortably on the pedals again, and hopefully they will get to again soon.
*edit: grammar errors*

The parent thread was very long. What was the problem? It looks like he put something in one of the fluid reservoirs?

But some people would argue that the turbo is not the better car ;0

yeah he dumped something in my tank (still dont know what it was), basically destroyed my engine, if i start my car is smokes pretty bad (edit: really bad), he egged the crap out of it and flattened all my tires.

no progress yet as of now. and a few of you are wonder what i will do with the money? well i dont know yet, i will either get it running again, then sell it. or just sell it how it is now.

part of the money will be putting me through college and the rest will be in a savings account until another 944 comes up. preferrable a turbo, doesnt matter though, i will settle for another 83-84 if it came down to it.

I've owned both. The 951 is a much, much better car than a 944NA... and I really love the 944NA.

My recommendation is definitely along the "part out the 944 and buy a nice 951/S2" lines...

If you decide to do something with the 84, call me. I have an 83 and an 87, and I live in PDX. I would happy to help you with some of your issues, and I have a bunch of spares that I would donate to the cause of a local 44 guy.

Hit me with a PM with any questions or needs.

The 951 has to be much, much better because it costs so much more to keep running. (I do love mine though.)

Simply amazing, how did you get $11k? For trauma incurred??

I'd just sell off the 944, let someone else part it out, and get yourself a 951!

What part of portland do you live in? I have only seen one or two other 44's around here. I have been thinking seriusly of getting a parts car and parting it out to make some money, where do you find yours?

haha yes $11k sounds amazingly high.

engine damaged was quoted from the porsche dealership, $5100 for parts and $4000 for labor IIRC.

basic $2500 paint quoted from a local reputable shop.

i didnt claim anything for trauma or anything like that, i just requested he be placed in a detention center as well.

shwak: thanks for the offer, i will let you know what happens

Bugger. I bumped the Enter Key. Let me try again.

Wow, this is like one of the most interesting posts I think I have ever read. I don't know whether to laugh or cry for the sadness of story. It' s like I have just finished reading a top selling novel, but on a forum. Have you ever thought about writing a book about this mate? This way you could sell it and make even more money and buy a 944 Turbo with everything on it. I can't actually believe what I have just read, I'll have to read it again.
How could anyone do such horrible things to a PORSCHE? He needs to be bitten by a Shark for the cruelty to Porsche. I know, even better, find a Porsche 928, thats a shark, it should be interesting anyway. I hate Porsche Haters. Rrrrrrrr!!!!!!!

haha a book? i havent thought of that, maybe i could, maybe it will be huge and they will turn it into a movie, and some studio pays me hundreds of thousands of dollars to buy the story from me. im not much of a book writer though.. it would be nice though.

When conversing about the new 997 Carrera 2, Richard Hammond of Top Gear stated "I would wake up every morning and look outside and think 'yes I own a 911, the greatest sports car in the world etc etc etc...." to which Jeremy Clarkson replied: "No No you would look outside and think "awwww somebody's poured paint thinner on it again!!!!!!!""

That's a really good point Schumi. People can do some of the most cruel things. If they would have worked half as hard toward something postive, they would probably have enough money to buy themselves one of those 997s.
