Nov. 18 Toys for Tots fun run and BBQ

Cross-posting from the 914 club forum, but I wanted to extend an invite to the SoCal grüppe and any others willing to attend this event.

Team NARP...Ortega...and Toys For Tots
Talking to the Team members today we worked out the details of this event.
Hopefully it will be the biggest California 914 event of 2006. We have been putting $2.50 from each Team NARP sticker sale. Along with this we would like to give them some toys.

November 18, 2006. Come one come all, the more the better for the KIDS.
We're going to have a Fun Run from Corona to Team NARP Headquarters for a BBQ.

You don't have to do the run, you can just drive to Team NARP Headquarters.

You will have to bring with you 1 new unwraped toy worth at least $10.

The Fun Run will happen from the parking lot North East of The 15 and Cajalco. We've started many runs there.

Time, 9:14 of course.

This should put you all at Team NARP Headquarters at 11:30 and the "Q" should already be "ON".

I can't possibly think of a better reason to do this. My Bar-B-Q's, gather a lot of people together to have FUN. Well, this time we have a much better reason to gather. The Children. Come on, lets make it happen for them.

Please respond/post if you would like to join. You just need to bring a $10 gift. We've done a few Ortega highway runs and we're usually pretty good about the speed/safety thing (not promoting or condoning speeding on this highway).

Anyhow, hope to see some of you there!

Cool! I will definitely try to make it. That is an awesome event!!!

Can you explain a little bit more what it is and what Team NARP is? Are we driving the kids around or is it just a cruise over Ortega highway... I read the original 914 tread, but I couldn't really understand what it was all about.

Either way, I'm interested.

Basically you buy a toy valued of $10. We meet up at the 15 & Cajalco, then do the drive, meet back in Newport at Team NARP HQ. Bring the toy with you, it will be boxed up with the others and shipped out to Toys for Tots, a charitable organization

Team NARP is my local race crew. As unofficial as they can be... NARP also stands for Not A Real Porsche. It's a bunch of 914s, so naturally we're Team NARP.

I'm in St Louis but I'll mail you a couple toys. It doesn't seem like anybody around here does anything cool. You get a couple Posche Snob events a yearf and that's about it. Wish I could attend but St Louis is a bit far. PM an address and I'll shoot you out a couple toys.

shikzachaser -- there are events going on in your area. Just check out the 914club board and see. I think MUSR8 is on right now. Sure you don't have a 914 -- but it's more about the people and the fun, than the car

Dude, it was awesome!

The drive was fun, as well as the BBQ. I'm definitely going some other time. My girl enjoyed it as well. It was a gorgeous day and perfect for driving.
I could tell you were busy with your tinkering...So nice of you to help out your friends.
