Question Bilstein vs. Koni

Well I need to buy new rear shocks for the 924S. I herd a loud bang from the rear as if I got hit, but nothing was wrong with the drivability and I couldn't figure out what it was for about 2 months. Well now I here a slight "thug" everytime I go over a bump or take a corner really fast. I'm getting it checked next wednesday to make shure. Anyway if I need new ones which are the best performance for the price? Boge $76, Bilstein $114, Konis $130 from performance products. Also are there any places to find tham cheaper other than e-bay?

I would do either Bilstein or the Koni if you want performance. The Koni would be my top choice due to the adjustability (though limited) and the lifetime warranty.

At full soft they are slightly stiffer than a brand new OEM shock and at full stiff are...well pretty darn stiff.

The Bilstiens are valved somewhere in the middle of that i think but offer no adjustability.

Both are good choices though.

The best prices around for Koni and Bilstien are from ParagonProducts.

Is my 924s have pre '85/1 or '85/2-91 shocks in the rear?

I'm running Bilsteins and like them. I think Koni's are better thoe. I guess you pay for what you get. New shocks make your butt look jacked.

The 924S uses the later style rear shock.

New shocks in the rear will give the appearance of higher ride height because teh rear end wont sag as much. So technically you will be back to the normal ride height the car came with.

Bilsteins have much better durability, IMO.

I've heard this as well...

For what it's worth I have Bilsteins on my 924S and I'm very happy with them. Solid ride quality and excellent handling attributes.
