What did it cost new? Code help

1984 Porsche 944

I am doing some research on my car.

Option codes:

CO2 - Catalytic Converter
H44 - Do not know
158 - Radio Monterey
220 - Locking limited slip diff
349 - Do not know
409 - Sport seats - left and right leather
418 - Protective side moldings
431 - Leather steering wheel - 4 spoke

Rear wiper - code unknown
Cruise - code unknown
Alarm - Code unknown
Metallic Paint option.
Removable top - electric power - code unknown.

Can anybody help with the missing codes?

What would this car retail with the options listed in 1984?

Thanks.

Your car is somewhat similar to mine, although you have more options. my car has leather sport seats too (just recovered them, what a job!).

the options you have that i do not are: limited slip, 4 spoke wheel, rear wiper, cruise control, alarm.

my car is sunroof delete though (i never could figure out if that added to the cost or not).

anyway, my car sold for 27,447.20. that should give you a ballpark starting point, i'd say your car is probably a bit closer to 30 given the more options.

this is the list of prices as it says on my window sticker under 'manufacturers suggested retail price:'

porsche 944 coupe......................21,440.00
gemini grey metallic paint.............445.00
genuine leather front seats...........950.00
monterey digital cassette radio.....600.0
sport seats................................250.00 *i think that is ridiculously cheap, and everyone should have had this option*
protective side moldings...............155.00

if you do the math that adds up to more like 24,000 but of course there are always other associated costs... i can't find the other reciept right at the moment but dealer fees and whatnot made up the other bit of the price.

FWIW - my 951S has NO codes written in the trunk. the window sticker however says what the options were and how much they cost. the 'S' option package for the 951 was approximately $5,000.

Cost

Thanks Mike for all the details. 27K back in 1984. I think back in 1984 I was making low twenties. I can understand why this car was out of my reach in 84.

In todays standards, what would this car cost today?

Again, thanks for your help.

Today, a $40-50K car.

But anyway, my '84.

944 Coupe $ - 21,440
Copenhagen Blue Paint - 0
Montery digital cassete radio - $600
Protective side moldings - $155
4-Spoke sport steering wheel - $70
Stabilizers and Sport Shocks - $270
Alarm System - $200
Partial Leather Front Seats - $300

Factory Installed Accessories $1645
Destination Charge $365
Total $23,450

The car has paint matched cookie cutters, I'm not sure if it came that way or not as its not listed as an option, I've never looked it up.

Oh - original owner payed $1084.72 in sales tax according to his title application I have in the vehichles rather large documentation folder. (Purchased March 7th, 1984)
