heater blower speed

Hey i got another 944 im driving around right now. All speeds on the blower switch work but the last one which is full blast. Im guessing theres nothing wrong with the blower itself. Does anyone know what wires i can cross to activate full speed? Or is there a way to bypass the resistor? I don't care about the other speeds working. I just need full blast to work so my windows don't fog up in the cold and I don't freeze.

If the defroster vents on the dash are not working -- no air or very little -- it's that the lever arm on the diverter baffle in the air distribution box has broken off. As to the blower not hitting the high or full speed; the switch is replaceable. Direct voltage to the motor would be full speed so it is the switch that is messed up. Most likely it has melted a bit from being hot and the contact for the full speed is pulled away from the rest.

Still need to check the arm. It's on the drivers side of the box just above the gas pedal and toward the radio. Pulling the instrument cluster out would give you a better angle to see it. You have to pull the dash to fix it.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

^^ Ditto!

Don't try to bypass. Bad practice of butchery. Switch is the most likely culprit. Switch is an easy fix. Good luck!

Edit: You do know about Clark's garage? Maybe it can help.
