Question OEM Wheel ???

Hello,
What should be the OEM wheel size on my 88_944? Phone Dials with 215x60x15 tires?
And could i go to a 16"?
What offset should look for in new wheels? Thanks Neal [img]

16 inch wheels fit fine. The factory used them on the turbo, and later S2 and 968 models.

Any late offset wheels are interchangable between 911s, 944s and even Boxsters.

Any Porsche with anti-lock brakes will use the same offset as your '88.

The offset you need is 52.3mm. I know that 49mm will work as well as I have that O/S on my BBS race wheels. Mentioned to give you an idea the O/S need not be spot on spec.

The OE wheel size is 7JX15. Some may have 6J/7J stagger f/r. 6Jx15 is most found on the 924S.
16" is also available OE on 951's and S models.

Rule of thumb...Tire should never be one inch wider that the wheel width(7J)=8" tire. To do wider causes tire bulge and loss of tread/profile/tracking.

You can go a large diameter wheel as long as the profile or O/D remains reasonably close to OE outside dia. And or clearing body/suspension.

Thanks for the info. I would like to find a nice set of 16's. I need new tires soon, and would like to upgrade.
