Are all Sachs clutches created equal?
I'm about to replace the clutch in my 89 944 S2. I'm going to use a "stock" Sachs clutch, which now includes a spring-centered disk. Are the Sachs clutches sold through dealers exactly the same as those sold through aftermarket suppliers such as Pelican, Paragon, and others? I would think they would be, but I heard a rumor that was otherwise. Anyone know for sure?

Get in touch with Britwrench or Ronin (AKA Mark and Ralf). They will be able to give you definitive answer. They also are top-tier mechanics (IMO) and the shop they work at, Gerber Motorsport, has always treated me very well.

We use Sachs clutches. Yet to have a problem directly caused by them. There are always rumors about the difference between Porsche (or any other vehicle manufacturer) supplied and aftermarket supplied.
Personally, I don't think there is any difference. With the emphasis on profitablity nowadays, why would any major (and Sachs is one) manufacturer bother to make two versions of a relatively slow selling product. Bearing in mind the Porsche supplied ones have the same Sachs part number printed on the actual part as the aftermarket one. But is does come in a different box........

Thanks, Mark. That's sort of what I thought, but I glad to get your further insight.
