Bizarre Problem - HELP!!

I was finishing up installing the 951Max chips into my car, when, tightening down the banjo bolt for the KLR, the threaded section of the bolt snapped off in the KLR housing. I was even using extra care in working with this banjo bolt, because I didnt want to lose the rubber sealing washers.

So, now I have a useless banjo bolt and a KLR with half a banjo bolt stuck inside. What do I do?!?

well, its already hollow. use a reverse tap thingy (can't remember what it is called) to get it out. i may have a new banjo bolt, if you need it.

i'm headed down to Bristol Motor Works now, to see if I can get it taken care of ASAP. I will let you know, RE the banjo bolt.

Got the bolt out fairly easy. Bristol Motor Works just called to tell me they DON'T have the banjo bolt I need. Do you have one for me, nynor?

Does anyone else have one, if nynor doesn't?

CJFusco 01-25-2007 12:03 PM

It's on its way. Thanks, nynor. Things move quickly in the Porsche community :)

Your local FLAPS may even carry that bolt.

based on that pic, what's the difference between this banjo bolt and the coolant bleeder screw? They look very similar.

nynor 01-25-2007 06:03 PM

not sure of the size of the bleeder screw, but the banjo bolt is tiny.

Well, it's on its way, and if we get snow I won't be driving the 951 anyhow.

Although even driving the 951 on snow, ice, salt, and sand would be better than the alternative:

Where do you live? My FLAPS doesn't even carry the washers for a banjo bolt, I had to order them from the dealer. (just BTDT on the girlie's Corrado, the oil lines to the supercharger are banjos)

The bleeder screw cost me 6 bucks from Brumos. That'sprobabaly 3 bucks to the rest of the world, but I'd go ahead and ask them if time is of the essence here.
