Can anyone recommend a good trustworthy p-car mechanic to do a pre-purchase?

There are several good ones. Check the CVR PCA website for their tech inspectors and you will get an idea.

I used to recommend Bristol Motor Works unconditionally, but the owner of the shop recently sold the shop. As far as I know, the new guys might be great - but I don''t know.
Auto Associates of Canton and Musante Motorsports both have a great reputation.
