Sunroof HELP!!!

i got a problem with early '84 944 sunroof. it just doesn't work, so i pulled off the back top panel where actuators are located, took off little black plastic plates that covers actuators, and basically all i saw is - actuators, aluminum piping rinning to them with springs inside the tubung. Tubing runs into a white box in the middle, i tried to remove that white box, but allen key bolts just spin around. anyways i didn't see no wiring running to it, so i couldn't even check voltage on the motor (where ever that is). Does anyone knows the system? and how it operates, why it doesn't work and how to troubleshoot the system. Right now I am completely lost.

Here is an article that helps with it if it's a mechanical problem. If it's electrical, then Clarks has a diagnostic procedure my daughter used when her's didn't work

http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/944_Sunroof/944_sunroof.htm

The article over complicates it a little bit in my opinion so don't read it and be intimidated as it really isn't that complicated. My daughter read it and fixed hers in about thirty minutes. Her's was stripped gears but she also had an electrical problem that she fixed.

mine didnt work at one time either. its was an easy fix, but on the motor where the cable feeds into the motor theres a whits arm that rides over 2 rollers (limit switches) just above the motor itself. its a white box once there down, the motor stops. that arm may be stuck over them. definetly check out http://www.clarks-garage.com/ i had an 87 924S dont know if its that same sunroof components, but i hope you get tjat thing working again.

I had sunroof problems from the day that I bought my car and finally got around to checking it about a week ago. I used clarks-garage to find out that all my relays are in good shape, and the motor was toast. The page on clarks-garage is a little complicated but it does cover the electrical part of the sunroof.
