Where does a little black wire go????
We were putting the 83 back together (oil cooler seal, new fan shroud, radiator sending unit, etc.) and under the air filter box, I noticed a black wire (with a female terminal) coming from the a/c compressor or the alternator. I looked around and could not find where or what it plugs into. Any ideas???

It sounds like it's the a/c clutch wire. There should be a maching wire under there somewhere, you might have to poke around to find it.
do you have a picture of it?

What was the outcome of the black wire? I have the same problem. I'm thinking it's something to do with the alternator since it comes from the voltage regulator (in my case)
