my window ate my homework

I changed out my passenger mirror assembly. I made but splices. (A real pain to do by yourself)

I rolled down and back up the window. It ate my wires and pushed them out the window track. ARRRGGG

My question. I can't remember can I access them from the inside via the removal of the door panel?

What advice do you guys have to prevent this wire eating again.?

Thanks

You will have much more room to work by taking the door panel off. Relativley easy to do also.

There is a little metal piece that comes off the window track which allows you to route the wire harness and keep it away from the window. Its a strap that bends easily so you can wrap it around the window frame. With the door off, i would simply get creative with zip ties. With the panel off you can easily run the window up and down a few times to check clearances.

I feel your pain, replaced the doors on my friends '89 and had to resplice a bunch of wires back together. I highly recommend buying this tool...

This will make your life and splicing wires about 100x easier. I replaced the wire harness on a '85 944 and without this tool, i would probably still be splicing wires.

I admit i took the easy way out with my car, i never redid the wiring to mate up with the 968 mirrors. Once in a while it would be nice to have the defrost option, but that is usually once a month.
