oil on valve cover?

i keep finding a small amount of oil on the valve cover of my '88 944S, i wipe it clean but it's always there again next time i look. it's near a little black round caplike looking thing, anyone know what this is and if it could be letting a little oil out? thx, jc, it's the 16 valve head.

I think there's a rubber gasket under there, get one from OEM and replace,

if its just a little bit weepy and you can live with it, then wait till your next major service !
