Balance shaft housings
I've noticed a couple times lately on ebay Balance Shaft housings being sold - Aren't they machined specifically for the block? They can't be swapped around can they? Just curious.

Yes, each block has the balance shaft housing and the main bearing web machined for each block.
The idiots that are selling the housings separately are hoping that you are more stupid than they are.

If one had an "issue" could a replacement housing be line bored? or is it new block time?
this really isn't pertinent to my life right now, I'm just curious. nate

It can be line bored, but the additional cost is almost as much as a proper block is worth.
