cooling fan operation

My cooling fans are acting up. The passenger side fan runs constantly when the ignition is on. Both fans come on when the AC is on. The fan turns off when the ignition is turned off. I replaced the radiator 2 weeks ago and installed a new fan switch at that time. I guess the switch could be bad, but its only two weeks old and was working fine until today. Any ideas?

Car is an 88 924S Thanks!!

Bad A/C relay (there are TWO). The contacts weld closed. I just replaced mine a second time in about 7 years. Too tired to get into any detail. I'll check back tomorrow with fresh brain function and my trusty FSM schematics.

i'm kind of wondering about this as well. one of my fans (haven't checked which, have bigger fish to fry) runs all the time, the other comes on when i turn on the a/c (which is normal) on my 951S. i tried changing the fan relay, suspected something was shorting out in there.... not the problem!

whats up with this bologna!?

Both fans come on when the ac is in use. If the passenger side goes on and stays on when the ignition is turned on, maybe its it the sensor mounted into the radiator located on the drivers side.

Well I went out and rechecked everything. I thought the driver side fan was coming on when it wasnt. I went under the dash to pull the AC relay and while I was down there I noticed the fuse for the driver side fan was blown. Replaced it and we are back in business. Thanks!!
