Brake retaining springs.
While rebuilding a caliper I cleaned the pins , Springs etc in solvent. When I removed all parts the small rivet that joins the two half’s in one retaining Spring was missing. I don’t think it’s possible to repair that small a rivet and $80+ for a hardware kit to get one Spring is a bit much. Other cars yet similar springs are $15. Anyone know of a cross ref for the base ATE front brake or have ever repaired a Spring ?

Assuming you're talking about the spring plate on the 944na calipers the rivet can be replaced. I've drilled to next size. for complete hardware kits check this forums parts and you'll find for less than 15.

Good point , I had not considered drilling to accommodate a more attainable rivet size. And your correct in that there is a Dansk brand I missed for $15 whereas I had only seen the Porsche brand kit for $70 or more. Thank you sir ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
