Had some free time, did some work
Hey guys, Its been a while since I posted any progress on Project Red blaze. But I had some free time today and figured I better start workin on the p-car since I now have money for parts. SO I did some minor stuff, I port Matched the T-body to the intake, I had to take off alot of material, Took me about 1.5hrs to do. Im surprised how poor the factory fit was. I also cut the ends off the bolts that hold the T-body plate in to help flow a little. I know its not any big HP stuff but every little bit helps, Then I rebuilt my fuel rail with a new adjustable fpr and a fuel pressure gauge. Next I gotta swap my pistons, send the head out and order some more goodies. SORRY FOR THE POOR QUALITY PICS ALL I HAD WAS MY CELL PHONE CAMERA

Did you port match the TB to the IM or the IM to the TB? Or both? I currently have some time on my hands, but no $$. This sounds like a perfect way to spend some quality time with my car instead of monster/careerbuilder etc. It may not be a big HP increase, but I am a firm believer in doing the little things that eventually add up. Like running a battery ground wire direcly to the cylinder head (handy 6mm bolt hole on the back of the head for this). But that's the subject of a whole new thread.

I did both, FIrst I was looking at my TB and I didnt like how it suddenly tappered up, SO I smoother that out to a nicer taper, Then I noticed that there was a large edge showning between the T-body and the Manifold, SO I remove the material on the intake manifold to make it smooth, THen one last check and I notice that at the top of the T-body the path was not smooth, SO I removed more material at the top for a nice flush flow. IM really surprised how a Dremil tool, a sharpy and some time made it look nice and I hope flow better. Now when I run my finger inside I cant feel or see any edges where the TB and intake manifold meet. Best of all it was FREE just a little of my time ;-)

There's no problem with a small step, and it can actually help with anti-reversion in some cases, SO LONG AS it is in the direction of flow. that is, if your TB is smaller than the intake, you have no problem; if the intake is smaller than the TB then that's a problem. Likewise if your headers are bigger than your head ports, no problem - but if the ports are bigger, then that's a problem.

OK! Since it only takes about 1/2 hour to get the TB and IM off, it should be a fun little project. It will, however, take me five times longer than that to clear a space on my workbench first!

Toolboy, The TB is smaller then the intake, ALso it still does ramp up, just not all the sudden, There still is a nice venturi effect. I think it will work nicely
