I gave up ....
I never did find what was causing the fuel pump not to work...
I just wired the fuel pump up to a switch and fuse and the car runs and drives fine ... UGH I hate having it like this but whatever

On my car I had a problem with not being able to get the fuel pump to run. I checked fuses and the DME and traced and tested the entire circuit. I ended up under the dash where someone had put a toggle switch in for a "anti-theft" device, I flipped the toggle and presto! It worked. Sorry to hear about your luck, but your fix will serve just fine. I was pretty close to doing the same thing when I had problems with mine.

Will work for parts

Sounds odd, but did you ever replace the ignition switch? In our race car part of the ignition switch went bad and caused the lack of brake lights and instruments. This was traced due to the fact it wasn't sending 12v to the relay. Could be similar?

The logic to the original wiring provides that when the engine stops the fuel pump shuts off, like in an accident. Worst case is an engine stall from reduced pressure caused by a fuel leak somewhere on top of the engine, with your switch the pump just keeps pumping. Add a random spark and the 944 is toast.........
Keep lookin, it's worth the effort. Jon

Besides the safety aspect, your insurance won't cover anything.
