I am putting an 81 back together but need a map for the correct vaccum line layout. Can anyone help with pictures or sources for diagrams, etc??
best regards, Jacob G in NC

I'll check the factory manuals I have. Also look on the PS fender or under the hood for the diagrams.

Kyle, this is an 81 924 and not a later 924S.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

The 83 944 changed the engine, trans, widened the fenders and changed some of the front suspension (mainly the removeable cross member. I had two later 70's 924's brand new off the lot. The 944 is everything they should have been.

Up near Asheville myself.
Too bad you're not close by, as I would be happy to lend a hand. However, I'm pleased to see another member on the board from Carolina.
Keep us up to date on the progress & post some pics!!!

SoCal you ARE the Person! Its great to find help from strangers. I will be looking for a 944 when I get this one done. I bought it at a garage sale when I was 14. Any tips on best year 944?

Many prefer post 1986.5, sometime know as 944-2. I'm sure I'll hear opposing opinions on that however.

Like myself, I'm sure there are many of us who came to own a Porsche like these by chance rather than by choice.

I don't understand the drivel type of postings on forums, get a life, I thought this is a forum for passing on information about technical issues dealing with Porsches, excuse me if I am too blunt
