3.5 weeks ago - I am driving to lunch from work in my 944 (S engine). I slowly pull onto the busiest street in the area (well, I pull into the middle of the intersection), and *POP* no movement, free revs. I jump out of the car and push like hell, I honestly dunno how, but I was pushing the car at running speed - traffic from multiple directions can create incredible doses of adrenaline, lol. Broke all 5 bolts holding axle to transmission. It seems they were loose - got that fixed up later that night.
I sold it the next week ![]() Soo... the next Monday, I thought "hmm, I'll drive the blue 951 to work today." What a bad idea. An hour from home (yes I need to move closer to work) I notice the temp needle is pointing skyward. I pull over, let it cool down a few minutes, ponder what is wrong. Start car, temp drops to normal, I continue driving. Get about 3 miles, temp needle points skyward yet again, I hear belt squeel. I stop at a gas station. Thankfully the needle never got to the red either time. I let it cool for a while, start, belt squeel. Great, h20 pump is siezed. Call tow truck, tow home, drive GTI to work 3 hours late. Sweet. Soo... yesterday I thought "hmm, I'll drive my bad-effing-ass Silver Rose 944 Turbo S to work today." What a bad idea. I get to work fine. Show it off at lunch ![]() So, maybe I need to buy a tow vehicle. 3 times, 1 month, 3 different cars. ![]()

The optimistic viewpoint is to think that bad things always happen in three's. At least you got them out of the way and can drive around not thinking of the forth.

![]() Sorry about the stroke of bad luck. If you get sick of having 3 944s as lawn ornaments let me know. I will take the Silver Rose S off your hands for $50. ![]() I guess you won't be making the timing belt tension party? I kind of know the feeling of being overwhelmed with car repairs. 1)Ford truck needs lots of engine work 2) Saturn needs engine rebuild (only runs on 3 cyclinders) 3)944S needs to have V-8 swap completed. I only have a single car garage and the 948 project is occupying it. You can do it Brad. Start wrenching on the easiest first to get it up and running and then move onto the next one. Soon you will be up to your ears in good running 951s. Speedy ![]()

New wiring harness in silver rose car.
Yay! Reliable starts! Still have lots to do. I bought it with NO interior other than a dash and door panels, and it now has black carpet including a badass carpet rear seat delete. I still have some minor issues, hope to have it running and home tomorrow. If so, pics ![]()
