rear view mirror switch removal

any tips on removing the rearside view mirror switch? To be clear, this is the nubby control aside the window up/down switches on the driver side inner door. I already snapped some of the plastic surrounding it.

the objective is to clean the switch (if possible), akin to cleaning the window up/down switches (while I am at it).

The day/night switch is delicate and is known to break. If yours still works you may want to spray some silicone lube in there, it may prevent it from breaking.

Any plastic is very brittle on these cards. I figure to break most of the plastic trim pieces when I replace my dash, so I am factoring an extra $100 in.
