Throttle cam
I installed throttle cam on my car the other day........ And all i can say is WOW. It's like a whole nother car. The throttle response is nice. I did have to drill the holes out of the new cam just a little though as it wouldn't fit over the post and the cable wouldn't fit either. But after drilling them out and adjusting the cable for proper idle, which I believe is at about 900 rpm's it works great! I truly recommend it to anyone that hasn't already done the upgrade. The nice thing is if you don't like it for some reason or another it is a cheap upgrade and the reversal would be very easy to do.

I drove a Toyota today and all I can say is Wow! It's like a totally different car from the 944!
You don't adjust the tension on the cable or the hard stop for the throttle valve to set the idle.

Yeah, you don't do it on a Toyota either.
That stopper under the go pedal can be deleted now.

The cable was too tight with the new cam on and it was ideling at 2500 RPM's. What was I supposed to adjust?

Well, the cable's slack is adjustable at the firewall, and the idle is adjustable two different ways - by the throttle stop screw and by the idle adjust screw itself

The tight cable was pulling the trottle cam back away from the set screw. After adjusting the cable it now sets next to the idle adjust screw.

You did the right thing Dave the cams are completely dirrernt and use a different amount of cable length.
Just double check to make sure the cable pulls to WOT I use alittle baseball bat between the seet and pedal. Sid

Good idea. I hadn't even thought of WOT. I will have to check that. It's nice though not having any delay when i give the car gas. Seems much more "normal" now.

I did the free-bee mod to my throttle cam to do essentially the same thing. It was much improved I felt. Snappier to say the least. Also it made shifting easier for me as the throttle progression seemed more logical/linear.
