After owning my 944 for 5 years,and bringing it back from the dead.It looks like it will prolly be going to a new home this weekend..Whenever the 44 comes out of hibernation,I bring it to the local station to fill up.The gas pumper there is a young kid(highschool student) that has worked there for 2 years working nights.From the first time I saw him a few years ago,I couldnt help but notice the way he looked at the car with that sparkle in his eye..He stares at it like he's in a trance..Finally one day when filling up my Pontiac,he reconized me and started asking about the 944..He told me that he is in love with my Porsche and actually has had dreams about owning it.I told him I was appreciative of his comments,but it wasnt for sale..Over the course of the following year,he kept drilling me about selling the car to him..I would tell him,,"kid,this is not the car for you"plus,,"I doubt you have the money..As months past,he continued to bother me the next few visits..Last week I decided to entertain him and I told him,,"go home and get me $5500 and its yours..He looked at me with a sudden sad face..I knew right away what it meant..He wanted the car so bad..And now that Im telling him he could have it,,the reality was he didnt have the money..I told him not to sweat it..You are young and have all the time in the world to own a 944..He stated"I dont want any 944,I want yours"..I drove off and went home..It turns out my brother in law knows this kids parents..He tells me that the kids parents want my phone number to discuss something..They call me a few nights ago and tell me they want to come look at the car..The father is a Corvette gear head and knows cars in and out..They are coming to my house tomorrow to look at the car and if all is well,paying for it..They say they're son is graduating HS in a few weeks and want to surprise him.They say he is driving them insane with talking about the car for the past year.They wanna buy it,and hide it for awhile.On graduation day,they are gonna park it outside of his HS with a huge Black bow on it..I asked the Dad,,why Black??He said because Red wouldnt show up on this car...Anyway,just thought Id share the story..It looks like some kid is gonna be a very happy camper soon..It works out just in time too..I will be starting a new 280ZXT project and could use the money..I just hope the 944 is well cared for and doesnt wind up wrapped around a tree if the kid gets it..I'll keep ya posted on the results..

Ohh man, That car is way way way to nice for some Young HS kid to have, I hope he takes really good care of it. You should give hime a Porsche care class every week LOL ;-)

u know what would be even more badass? if you worked something out with the parents so you could pull in after his graduation while he was working, get him to fill it up, and just toss him the keys....

Well its a done deal..The kids parents payed for the car and it will be sitting outside the kids school when he graduates next week..Cant wait to see his face..I loved this car since the day I bought it and hope he feels the same way.Ive put tons of cash and manhours to bring it up to snuff over the last five years.Thanks to all the Pelicanites who helped along the way..I hope the kid takes care of it and I will be sure to direct him to Pelican..He's young..Be nice
