Porsche Crest 87 944S Failed Emmissions

I'm new to the board and just bought a 944S. Took the car to inspection (DE) and it failed HC(PPM) the LOW reading, it passed the HIGH reading and everything else was good. This particular car has a 3" Triflow exhaust system (No Cat), but the inspection place did not see that. Not sure what the problem is. The car runs really good but I'm affraid I may have to install a cat. Very hard to find a cat this big to match the rest of it; previous owner did spend a great deal of money with the exhaust and it looks and sound very nice. Any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Luis
