Manual Steering Rack / M030
How do i know if i have a manual steering rack ..
As well... Im just taking apart one of my S2's and found the nice adjustable konis under there. the sway bar is absolutely monsterous. (measured by eye and its like 28mm). It has the Huge a*s brakes. Its a JapSpec version.. imported from japan. Could i be so fortunate to have the M030 option? And the steering rack looks a little different from the ones on my other cars. There is still a power steering pump and reservoir.. but feels different. any tips?

check for fluid
 and... make sure it's the *right* fluid!

The fluid was fine.. the steering stiffened up at higher speeds..thats why i wondered.. seems different. lol

I'll be heading through your neck of the woods to see my girlfriend at night... meeting her in niagara falls at 9pm... if I swung by around 730, would that be ok? or would it be too late? i can do a day next week too if you rather.

Manual Rack
 Power Rack   You can see the difference in the size of the control tower on the power rack. You might have a "manualized" power rack on the car. Did you check the option sticker for the M030? (assuming it's still there) Last edited by 87944turbo; 08-10-2007 at 04:00 AM.. |

Easiest way to tell if you have a manual rack is to try to turn the wheel full left then full right with the car stopped but running. Try again without the car running. If theres zero diference, you have a manual rack.

car is from japan.. no option code can be found.. strange one... ended up in hospital tonight while working on car.. only have use of one hand for about 6-8 weeks.. cut tendons in left hand.. no piano for me for a while now... engine is out tho.. along with the whole front end of the car...
