924 welding repairs

I'm hoping to start work repairing and welding sections into the floorpan and body on my 924 this week.
Can anyone advise me what thickness of mild steel would be suitable to use on the floor.I was thinking maybe 0.8mm - 0.9mm?
Any ideas guys.

No thoughts on this guys?
A mate in work has suggested i use 2mm for the floor pan - would this be too thick?

2mm would be a bit thick. 1 to 1.5 would be what the original would have been
