got a pic of the car? someone might be able to tell by looking...

i take it it doesn't have the options sticker in the hatch?

At least give us the rough idea of the color -- there were only 12 colors used in 1991, unless it was a special-ordered vehicle:

see... the prob is...the car is a chameleon colour... it changes from blue to almost purple. Factory colour .. i think i have found the code for that one.. but in 87 there was a metalic blue as well.. and i want to see that one so i can know exactly what it looks like.. i need to paint my car and want a good shade of blue to use.. but im pickey.. i dont like the shade it is at the moment.

i think the s2 is Cobalt Blue Metallic L M5N
i want to know what Diamond Blue Metallic L M5U looks like..

because my 87 S car WAS a metallic blue before the paint shp made it a pastel blue ... and i hate it!! but have no paint codes for any of the colours the cars were originally..

Not the best photos for looking at paint, but here's my Cobalt Blue (from a '92 968):

And for the '87, there was also the Nautic Blue Metallic, which was very dark:

The paint code should be on the car in several places?
also in the manual

are you saying there is NO paint code at all anywhere ?

the car could have been resprayed... i dont think they used any chameleon colours on the 944s... could be wrong though.

Marcone 08-14-2007 11:05 AM

Problem with posting a pic is the colour correction of your screens... will look a different shade...

and yes..there are NO paint codes on Either car.... no where.. No user manuals either... Damn P.O's

No respray either.. Original paint...

The 91 is my fav... the 87 was nice till the car was resprayed and we lost the colour due to paint shop changing it on me with out my knowledge.

HELLLLLPPPP

LOL

my car was also a mystery color, although it was the original paint the body shop couldnt find the codes. They ended up calling the dealer with the VIN and with a little work got the paint code

Marcone 08-14-2007 09:56 PM

Ahh.. i could do that.. Wicked idea.. vin at the dealer...

Hmm.. now off to the dealer! Got two to paint now.. a red one and a blue one.
