strut bars

I have decide to try a strut bar. Anyone selling?

I see 3 that will work with my car BK, Weltmeister, KLA. Pricing is $300, $220 and $140. Is the KLA bar at $140 made of pipe cleaners or something? the Brey Krause looks nice but is it worth it?

KLA is not the most pretty but in my opinion is more than effective and much cheaper.

the kla is a very effective, budget conscious unit - i ran one for a long time, and only changed because i wanted something prettier

a lower suspension brace (castor block brace) will make a world of difference too - the one on my 968 cab ended up making the chassis so stiff that i can now put 3 wheels in the air at once, using one jack point - contact pete at rs barn to see if it will fit your car

I bought a Racing Dynamics brace from Pelican. $240 including shipping. I like the way it looked, and after all it's about lookin' good.

Sometimes you can find them on ebay, but the bidding gets silly. You might get it at a low price but the shipping costs can put it at 80% - 90% of a new one. That isn't a deal in my book. After some unsucessful bidding, I went the new route. I looked for the best deal that had low or free shipping.

I dont think there is much place to mount them without cutting holes in the rear. You can do something like a rollbar in the back across the C-pillar which may help reinforce the rear end. I know my car feels subjectivley tighter with the Redline roll bar in the back. Though that is kind of a extreme case as any advantage is probably negated by weight and the loss of using the rear seats.

I haven't seen a rear strut brace, but a harness bar mounted above the rear seat helps alot

they have to, due to the reduced rigidity from removing the top.
Or it would be as flexible as the '85 iroc i used to have where during hard cornering you could see the body flex with your eye

lol - i used to see that in my mgb too (before the roll cage)

the good news is that there is a cure for the cabs - i designed a "chassis brace" for it (looks, feels, and smells like a 6 pt roll bar) - reduces measured chassis flex by 60%

with the added lower front brace, strut tower brace, and the reinforcement porsche (ok - ASC on behalf of porsche) did on the 968 cab (not sure if it's on the S2 cab or not), i actually now have a car that is stiffer than a stock hatchback model

and i'm not done yet......

Where did you get the lower front brace?
do you have any pics of it & info on how it's installed?
I probably don't need one, my car handles great & i don't have any plans on putting it on a track again, I just love adding trick stuff to it.
Do you need to add any additional stiffness to the rear to equalize the cornering?
