sunvisor clips - is there a better one made

In the last 3 days both my sunvisor clips have broken. Is there a better replacement than the stock ones? I plan to order a set or two from pelican, but just thought I would ask first. Thanks

You can always go to your VW dealer and get a great spring-loaded ball and detent type clip that will never break again. They are used on the VW GTI and many Audis. They use the same screw holes as the 944. Oh and they cost much less. Why Porsche used such a lousy design I'll never know, must have been the same guy that designed the electric sunroofs.

the other way to look at is that you probably just broke the original clips so replace them and be sure to budget for 2 more in 2026

The factory Porsche clips are garbage, ive had a brand new pair break within one year and so have many others. The VW part's are practically the same price and probably will never break.

I have had to replace both of mine, and one of the replacements broke. I've only had the car for 10 months, and 3 of those it was in storage.

Last time one broke, I just ordered three or four so I wouldn't have to deal with it again. Next time, I'll check out the veedub parts.

Finally got around to calling the VW dealer. They have to order them, should be here in a day or two. Only $9.03 each. Not bad I think. I did see a guy on ebay selling sets for $36, that is what got me off my butt and order a set from VW.

Thanks again for the tip.

Try these (http://www.arnnworx.com/visor_clips.htm). Here is where you can purchase them (http://www.arnnworx.com/index.htm). Extremely well made, like all of Bruce's stuff. Don't think I will be buying anymore of these for a long time.

if they failed in less than a year, you probably overtorqued them on installation, order the special porsche torqueing tool, it's only $375.00, and you'll never break another visor clip!

Real what? The cheap Porsche ones that will crack again? For the record I did buy two new ones from pelican, and guess what one lasted a 9 days before it cracked. So now I will Upgrade to the VW ones.
