slow start

do other peoples' cars take a second or more to catch after the starter engages? Mine has been like that ever since I got the car, but I assumed it was because of an old, draggy starter. Well I got a good starter in it but it is still doing that. I have no reason to believe anything at all is wrong with the car, but it seems odd, unless it is intentional on the part of Porsche to build oil pressure before putting a load on the bearings. I do have an Autothority chip if it makes a difference. I'm trying to get another DME so that I can run regular, but haven't got one yet.

mine turns a couple times and starts. that's always been the worst time for an engine, poor lubrication but i just live with it.

low voltage, corrosion, grounds,

i run regular.

My car does this :: '88 924S .

I'm pretty sure the fuel pump doesn't start running till you crank the car.

it's normal,

YEARS and YEARS ago, there was a thread about SLOW starting and I founf out it was a safety (engine) feature it will take a couple of turns before firing.

Evberyone I know with an S2 this happens to.

someonthing about getting/cranking oil up into the engine.

do a search, but it was only a few turns !

it pressurizes as the key is turned for a millisec or so but doesn't stay on.

on some cars you'll hear it buzz if you don't get into the start sequence.
