What paint did you use when you painted it? Same goes w/cam cover. Thanks!

Most people actually get them powdercoated, I'd think. That's what I'm going to do,

I painted the "PORSCHE" on my cam tower. There are other ways, I'm sure but this is what I did:
Clean the surface: Used a wire brush attachment on my drill. Wiped everthing down with degreaser. Taped everthing off. Used Gorilla tape. Worked very well. Sprayed the area with high temp clear. The stuff the use for automotive applications. What this does is seal off any parts where the tape did not stick well. It prevents the paint from bleading underneath the tape. An old placstic model painting trick. Used flat black high temp paint to spray the letters. Let dry over nite. Sprayed the area with high temp clear. I'm happy with it. I did a similar job on my son's 525i valve cover. To do an intake: don't you need to remove it from the engine?

Will work for parts

I used 1200 degree high temp paint for my intake and cam cover 2 seperate times. I never put the clear on but I regret that. I have not had any problems with peeling or bubbling, but the paint does chip easily and gas will wash it away without much hassle. It looks good though.
