Wrong Fuel Regulator Damper - can it be modified?
Hello all,
I drive a 1984 944, and recently needed to replace the fuel regulator damper (944-110-201-03) however, I didn't realize that this was different from the part that I needed to order, which is actually 944-110-201-01. The difference between the two dampers is that the one I purchased has a vacuum nozzle, and two inlet/outlets, while the one I needed has a vacuum nozzle and only one inlet/outlet. I am wondering if there is a way to modify this part - by clamping off the end of the 'extra' inlet/outlet. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, evan |

To help clarify - part #W0133-1610899 or 944-110-201-01 isn't offered any more by Pelican parts, and is extremely hard to find due to the fact that it is only on the models from 84 1/2 through 85, while #W0133-1615235 lr 944-110-201-03 covers models 83-84 1/2 and 85 - 88. Just hoping that the bottom outlet can be safely plugged and the part still used. Thanks

To be sure you wil need to to check FP. I imagine you can find this info online. I don't see a problem, However finding the right part may be just as easy and be better in the long run

I would not bother, get the one you need, sell the wrong one. I have a FPR used and believe it is good you are welcome to it, free....from an 87na.
Only 20 bucks new. But if you are hell bent on using it one port is to the tank, find which one returns unused fuel back to the tank and put a brass cap, found at a hardware store, and close it off. Dal

Just for the record, the last two numbers (03) of this Porsche part number is a revision number. In other words, the Porsche factory engineers made an engineering change to the specifications of the original part. So, "01" would be the OEM number and "03" means there have been two revisions to specifications since then. So, you did get the correct part number. If you really cannot use that FPR, because of some extra hose attachment OR the lack of a hose attachment, then there is another outfit which sells these parts, 944online.com. I don't mean to take any business from our gracious host, Pelican Parts, but if you need this and cannot get it here try them. Hope this helps.

Just checked the part number on Pelican's website, apparently they do offer it. OEM-94411020101 FUEL FLOW DIAPHRAGM - This is a special-order, non-returnable, part (availability and shipping charges may vary). [view in parts diagrams] $ 105.15 Sounds like it is coming from the factory or warehouse in Stuttgard, Germany. However, if one of the Pelicans here is offering it to you for shipping charges only. Well, free is a very good price!! ![]()
