Adjusting belts- Help

Started to unbolt the upper and lower plastic housing that covers the timing belt. One bolt just turns, and does not unscrew out. What can I do to get this to unscrew correctly?

This screw goes into another plastic piece.

Is it one of the bolts that screw the 2 plastic covers together? I had the same thing happen when I removed mine but it was one of the bolts that screw the 2 together, I just took them both out as one piece and dealt with it when I got the covers out. If its one that screws to the inner piece then I would say you would need to hack the bolt head off.

Sounds like the fixed nut in the rear cover is turning inside the plastic. Your best option is to carefully cut a "V" in the edge of the cover and remove the nut from the rear cover as you pull off the front cover.. If you do this carefully, you can use a bolt, nut, and a couple of washers to hold it together when you re-assemble it. It sucks, but it happens fairly often, just make sure you don't over torque the bolts when you put them back in, or you may have to cut another one out next time!

Good luck!

Just like many944s said.

Make sure to just snug them up when you reassemble.
