oil pump drive gear ?????

hey guys. Im in the middle of installing my oil pump. Per clarks garage it says if the oil pump drive gear has a ridge on it from wear then replace the gear. I have a very slight ridge that my finger nail barely grabs, You think it will be ok or should I replace it?

Second question, I was looking at the Pelican parts diagram of the oil pump and its parts, the gear is #3 just incase you didnt know, Put I noticed at the end of the shaft the show a o-ring, Mine didnt have this when I removed the pump, I would think that o-ring would get crushed by the crank pully. Is the o-ring correct or a mistake its part #4

Yes, all 944 motors have the o-ring (it is the same part as the water pump block-off plate o-ring).

Yes, if the oil pump drive is has any sort of ridge, replace it. Make sure you get the correct one.

Please make sure that the oil pump drive is seated in the housing. Give it a turn until in drops into place. Also make sure the pulley nut is torqued to the correct specification.
