87-88 Koni inserts question
OK, so I am pretty close to just ordering the Koni inserts for a full front suspension rehab... I have a couple strut bearings laying around so I won't be buying those. However I do need bump stops and boots... on Paragon's web site I see they sell Koni brand bump stops that appear to not be used with boots. Should I buy those? Or will the stock bump stop/boot combo work on the Konis as well? I would prefer to go stock as this is an all-weather driver (got a set of snow tires ready to go in the garage.)
I'll probably pop for the complete assemblies already done from Paragon as I unfortunately find myself very short on quality wrenching time ![]() thanks, nate

I have an 83 that I has new Koni inserts. I also replaced the stock springs with Weltmiester 200 lb springs. This lower the car about an inch. I kept the stock boots and bumpers with no problems.

depends on the condition of the bumpers - if they are cracked and/or spongy, they need to be replaced - which one to replace them with is somewhat subjective, depending on how fast you want the bumper to compress - they come in different durometers

OK, let me rephrase - do the '87-88 Koni inserts have the same diameter shaft as the stock struts? Or, in other words, do I have a choice of bump stops or do I *have* to use the Konis?
thanks, nate
