Small Problem almost became a Huge Problem

Just a short story about my small problem I had last night.

I washed the car yesterday and with the weather being great, I cruised around town for a couple of hours last night.

As I passed our local Porsche dealership, I decided to pull in and drool over the new cars. I only like going there when they are closed and I can just look.

Anyway, as I pulled into the dealership, I started to stop and my brakes went out - almost completely. It seemed like something had rolled under the pedal and was preventing me from pressing the brakes fully. Naturally, I started to panic as I had no room and was headed straight up to the giant glass window of the showroom floor and I was cruising in at about 20mph. I hit the emergency brake and it did nothing (that's because when I did my brakes in July, I never adjusted the emergency brakes). The car finally stopped about 3 feet from the big window.

Since I did my brakes in July, I thought maybe something had gone wrong but that was nearly impossible as they have been working great and I've done brakes several times.

I drove the back roads home. This morning, I looked things over but nothing seemed out of place - the pedal just won't depress fully.

Looking over the master cylinder, I noticed that the brake booster vacuum line has a very small port that had snapped off - whew...an easy fix. I'm just glad I didn't crash into the dealership and possibly a new turbo - that would have been a little embarrassing. :o

the pedal gets real hard with no vacuum.

the same way my wife gets mad at me for having lunch at Hooters & looking at the younger & sexier women, maybe your car has the same feelings & gave you a little reminder that she has to have all the attention :)
BTW glad you didn't hit the window, I could just see the pic in the paper of a 944 crashed into the front of the Porsche dealership.
