Question Where's the oil pressure sender???

I heard that the reason my oil pressure guage is always reading 5 bar is that my oil pressure sender unit is bad so I ordered a new unit. Now I can't find it on my engine. My Haynes manual is no help of course.

Anybody know where to find it??

Thanks,
Dave

Look below the oil filter.

It makes it a a lot easier to pull the passenger front wheel. It's below the oil filter. I'd wait until you change your oil next, (I'm in the process of doing mine) I've heard that oil will begin weeping out if you remove the old sending unit with oil in.

Unhappy

Okay I found the sender, replaced it but the guage still reads 5 bars all the time. Did I replace a perfectly good sender unit?

Send a message via Yahoo to Cebu
Check for grounded wire from below MAF down to sender

what wheight of oil are you useing? that will make it peg at 5. if its 20w50 you may have just replaced a good sender. 20w50 will show you only peged unless its 140f and you are running the car very hard on say a track then it may drop a little. if you read your manual and use porsche approved oil then its a diffrent story.

The gauge will peg high if it's wired backwards.
