Front Brake ID ????

Hi:
Just wondering if anyone over here can ID these brakes for me? I was thinking they are what is referred to as S4, but during discussion with a respected water cooled man, I may be wrong in my ID.

They sure look like the brakes on my 968.

TIA
Pat

Its hard to tell from the pictures but based on the rotor size it looks like those are the 928S4 calipers which are also found on the 944 Turbo S and aswell as the M030 equipped 968. The big blacks rotors are about .6 inches wider in diameter.

The 928GTS caliper {AKA, the Big Black}uses the same size pistons however can accomodate a much larger rotor. The big black is basically the same as the big red, just the fittings are flipped as they are positioned differently on the 928GTS and 993TT (one is trailing and one is leading). Both are interchangeable onto a 944 series car though (with the right parts).

This is a 993TT rotor (same as the GTS basically) with a S4 caliper (the incorrect one for this rotor).
