LiL Help on Bolt sizes

I am tying to get a block on an engine stand -- but the bolts that secure the clutch assembly will not thread into the block. My review of the parts book shows that they are M12's. So I gots me some M12's thread pitch 1.75.

They will not screw in more than a turn and a half. Can anyone confirm that the thread pitch? Is it 1.50 -- is there such a beast -- all the M12's I've seen always have 1.75 thead pitch.

Also can anyone tell me the size and thread pitch of the crank bolt -- neet that too.

Thanks

-Dan C.

This BB is for 924/944/968. What kind of car do you have? What year? You need to push the "User CP" button at the upper left of this page and add that info to your signature line so we can better serve you.

All the 10mm, 12mm & 14mm bolts I've come across my 924S so far have been 1.5 pitch. Crank bolt is M16 X 1.5 for the 2.5L 924S/944 engine. There should be a Fastenal dealer around the Boston area where you can get them.

You weren't paying attention. I said they should be 1.5 not 1.25.
