Spindles
So I am looking to convert my '88 944 to a turbo via an '86 salvaged turbo that I am picking up dirt cheap which makes it feasible. The question I am wondering is with the hubs and spindles. I will be converting my 944 to the turbo brakes and know I have to swap the hubs. What I am wondering is if I have to do the spindles also. The '86 turbo has the old offset wheels and I already have 3 sets of newer offset wheels which I would love to not replace. Is there any combo of stuff I can use from both cars to use the turbo brakes and the newer offset wheels or do I need to look into hubs and spindles from an 87 or newer car? Any help you can provide would be great.
Thanks Brian

You have to get the proper offset spindles. You can reuse the old hubs from your '88. Sell the early offset spindles to offset the cost for the late offset.

I assume the spindles from my 944 NA wont work with the turbo brakes correct? Based on this it sounds like Ill need to buy 87+ turbo spindles. Is that correct?

Isn't the old 23mm offset and the newer ~52mm. Thus you can use late offset wheels on early with a ~23-25mm spacer available on Ebay??'
Techno, you the man.

You could do that, but personally if i had 3 sets of late offset wheels already i would just sell off the early offset stuff to recoup cost. Spacers arent a bad thing but not an optimum setup to be using. Also some clubs do not allow the use of spacers for cars that see track / autocross use..not a concern for all cars but something to to take into consideration. Also it avoids the need to potentially have to go with longer wheel studs.

I think I' like to stay away from spacers as this is a club racing car. Looks like Ill be searching for a set of 87+ turbo spindles.
Thanks for all the help Brian
