plugging waterpump heater port
Im having a really hard time finding a plug for the waterpump to do my heater delete. I see them in auto stores but never big enough for this port. If somebody can find me an online source it would be great.

Never heard of one. Your local hardware store might have something to plug it. You might even check to see if a drain plug for a boat would work. Not the top one.

I've used Rubber chair peg covers available in any hardware store. They're cheap. Will be sloped but works with a well placed hose clamp. Even used Rubber corks from Wine bottles on hose with clamp sections. Does that make me a red neck? Keep an extra in your race spares, but should be good for the season.

you can also use a section of heater hose (to withstand water temp) and a plug (bolt or round stock) with a hose clamp in the end

Lighter is faster.
The section of plugged heater hose is a good idea, but I think a sweat-on copper pipe cap used to plug the other end of the hose would be better than a bolt or bar stock. Lighter, easy to find in any plumbing department and cheap.
