Anybody fitted it?whats the difference ? and will it fit a 16v S2?

Thanks Mark

if you are talking about the response cam, yes. it is a great improvement and should fit all 944s.

markt944 11-10-2007 09:30 AM

Yeh thats the one ,but after haveing a look round the net its only for 8v cars

is this true?

if the 16v cam is different, then i guess they don't fit. look at a 8v throttle cam and see if it is like yours. i can't see a reason for them being different in NA cars.

running_cold924 11-10-2007 09:58 AM

they are only for the 8v cars because the s and s2 use a pulley for the linkage, then routed directly to a throttle body, nothing like a pulley on an 8v
but they do work on 924S's because they have the 8v 944 engine
i know on my 944s it won't work, checked into it already.......my throttle cable comes from the firewall and wraps around a pulley to direct it back to the firewall to the throttle body. the goofy intake on those cars is annoying, everything is backwards....
hope this helps clear some confusion

Ok thanks had a quick look and its no go ,they are for they 8v cars only

Can you link to it? Who sells it? Easy to install? What kind of improvement are we talking (how would you measure that?)? =)

No gains at all. It just makes the throttle more sensitive.

No, really!! It actually adds 10 hp. ;)

I think you can just cut the stock one for the same effect. It'll just cut out the mushy off idle response. I find it easier to drive once you get used to it.

This explains it pretty well....

I have modified my throttle cam as outlined in the attached article. The new hole location is right on. The trick to this is how much metal to remove to have this dual position. It takes some trial and error. Need a dremmel tool with a cut off wheel to remove the metal.

Other option to cut off the extended part of the cam and relocate the hole.

There is no HP gain, only better response from the throttle.

The S throttle cam is already round from the factory. I bet the S2 is the same.

Marcone 11-19-2007 09:29 AM

The S2 is not the same as either engine... the S2 is a direct wire from the throttle to the airflow housing.
