Power Steering in '83 944?
Thinking of adding power steering to my '83 over winter. I assume that's a simple parts swap/add? Anything that would prevent it? Thanks guys...

you may need to add a spacer/washer behind the p/s drive pully on the crankshaft...the post '83 crankshafts were longer because of the added p/s pully.

Thanks, but as luck would have it I have an '85 engine in my '83, so at least that hurdle is out of the way. Now to start collecting all the misc. pieces. It'll sure make it easier for my wife to park it.

i loved the manual steering on my '83. my wife, however, refused to drive it because it was so hard to park.

If you have trouble locating parts, email me, I might be able to find some for you.
