turbo oxygen sensor
is there a difference between the turbo o2 sensor and the n/a sensor?
|
no.
|
why the two different part numbers?
|
some of them are one wire, some are three. perhaps that is the difference. if you have the three, do a search in the turbo area and you will find a nice three wire generic for a ford that costs about $35 and works just fine.

I believe the difference between the O2 units is the length of the wires and sheathing between the harness termination and the downpipe. The turbo unit needs to clear more area to ensure you do not burn the wires... and you need to be careful and specific when threading the wire down the side of the engine because the factory installed it where they did for a reason.

I recommend that you look carefully at your existing o-sensor before ordering the new one.
On my '88 n/a, I ordered the exact part number that the manual calls for but it wouldn't fit - my car has 3 wires (one plug) but what came was 3-wires (two plugs). When I called Pelican, it turns out that they used both types in my '88. Vern |
get the cheap ford one and splice it in. problem solved. there isn't a special division of bosch that makes them for porsche.
